Vitamin Water

For the first time in quite a while I am battling a cold which was generously passed on from my little munchkin. Nevertheless I am determined to soldier on through the day and what better way to start the day than to nourish the body and detox those pesky little bugs out of my system. A good and simple way to do this is to increase the intake of water. To pack more of a punch I decided to make a simple vitamin or detox water with natural ingredients. My fruit of choice was tangerine as they contain more vitamin C than oranges and are sweeter too. As well as coming into season, they contain anti oxidants that help combat free radicals in the body as well as a host of other health benefits.

INGREDIENTS

One or two tangerines (You can also use oranges, clementine or other citrus fruits of choice).

1 Litre of filtered water

Ice (Optional)

METHOD

Peel the Tangerines and place in container of choice.

Add 1 Litre of filtered water

Put the lid of the container on and store the water for a few hours or overnight in a cool dry place or in a refrigerator.This will give the fruit time to release some vitamin c and infuse the water with nutrients and flavour.

Open container and drink! Stay hydrated, rehydrate and enjoy throughout the day.
